Plane Transporting US Defense Secretary Forced to Touch Down in UK Due to Fracture in Cockpit Window

A plane ferrying the US defense secretary was forced to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was found in the aircraft's cockpit window, according to an official announcement which confirmed that the secretary was unharmed.

"The jet touched down in accordance with standard procedures and all individuals on the flight, including Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a spokesperson said in a online announcement.

He was traveling back from a quick journey to the city of Brussels during the flight.

This incident does not mark the first occasion that a US military aircraft ferrying a top government figure has experienced technical problems.

Months ago, a United States Air Force aircraft carrying the US Secretary of State to the German city of Munich was forced to turn back to the US capital after suffering a mechanical problem.
