The loved ones of young people lost after a deadly fire at a establishment in a Swiss ski resort are confronting an excruciating wait for confirmed information and pleading for any details about their family members publicly.

The inferno devastated the a popular bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Swiss Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the small hours of the first day of the year. Circulated video show the roof structure igniting as bottles with sparklers are raised in celebration.

Emergency services have warned that it could take days if not weeks to identify the those who perished of the disaster, which resulted in the death of four dozen individuals and wounded another scores more. A spokesperson noted on Friday that the majority of the those hurt have been accounted for, with efforts continuing to locate the final individuals.
