Shocked witnesses have described the "terrifying" scene taking place as a vehicle and knife assault resulted in two people deceased and three others hurt outside a Jewish place of worship in Manchester.
Police reported a car was targeted towards members of the public in the incident in Crumpsall and a man - believed to be the offender - was shot by armed police and is also thought to be deceased.
A delivery driver explained he witnessed what first appeared to be a vehicle collision before noticing there was an individual armed with a blade.
"We observed a vehicle involved in a collision, so we just thought it was a typical accident, but when we moved closer we saw a guy bleeding out on the floor. He was motionless, believed deceased," he remarked.
"Afterwards there was a guy in near the car, he was sprawled on the pavement, and there were a few people on the street."
The man, who identified himself as Gareth, told a radio broadcaster: "Someone called out 'he's in the school or the synagogue' and then as we looked over the man had a blade and he was just stabbing the pane, trying to get in [the building], and moments later the police arrived."
"They gave him a couple of warnings, he didn't listen, so they shot at him. He went down on the floor and then he began to rise and then they discharged their firearms again."
The attack happened on the holiest Jewish day, the most sacred occasion in the Jewish tradition, in a neighborhood with a large Jewish community.
Video circulated via social media appeared to show authorities directing weapons at a person sprawled on the pavement outside the front of the synagogue.
The armed officers yelled at bystanders to "retreat" and "disperse"
The individual on the floor is observed attempting to stand before there is the report of a shot and they fall to the ground.
Another person was seen still on the floor outside the synagogue gates with evidence of injury near their skull.

One more bystander, Shah, who is a neighbor of the building, described observing a vehicle "speeding by and heading directly toward the people."
"After that I had observed a person jump out and proceeding towards the bystanders," he said.
"It was a little bit traumatizing to be fair. And then following that I paused a moment just to understand events and to attempt to contact emergency services."
"The individual was just running out with a knife and he just started attacking people."
"It's truly frightening to be completely honest."
Local resident Olivia Gold said she had acquaintances who attend the worship center.
She told a press organization: "Probably very, very crowded. I am a local resident, but I've walked around to show solidarity. It's presently officers performing their duties."
"I went outside to observe events because I noticed three helicopters."
"It's truly terrible. We're a tranquil area, we seek no trouble. We don't want any of this."
"Personally, I believe the response by police has been highly commendable. They responded extremely rapidly."
Chava Lewin, who stated she was a religious Jew, resides adjacent to the synagogue.
She said: "I was in the vicinity and detected a impact noise and I believed it was possibly a firework."
"I spoke to someone who explained she was operating a vehicle and observed a vehicle swerving dangerously and it struck the gates [of the synagogue]."
"As soon as he left the car he began attacking nearby individuals. He went for the guard and tried to break into the building. He was in the courtyard."
"Someone barricaded the door. Everyone is in utter shock."
One more person mentioned observances had commenced when the assault happened but the religious leader, who was leading the service, kept his cool and he and additional individuals led the congregation to security.
He remarked: "These people embody true heroes."
