2K Brings Onboard Apex Legends Producer to Rescue Struggling Action Game Project Ethos

The renowned publisher has welcomed a seasoned producer from Respawn Entertainment to direct the studio crew at 31st Union, which is currently developing the upcoming over-the-shoulder roguelike extraction-shooter known as Project Ethos.

Management Transition Comes After Poor Response

Brinkman takes on the role of studio head at the development studio following the exit of previous head the ex-Sledgehammer Games executive, who was removed from his post due to Project Ethos' disappointing initial reveal last fall.

Recently, 2K president a key figure informed employees about this organizational change through an official communication, which emphasized that playtesting had revealed the necessity for a distinct game identity.

The president noted that the team is now overhauling the project with a renewed vision, aiming to satisfy gamer demands.

Trend of Strategic Acquisitions

The news mirrors a comparable step taken by 2K Games in the summer, when they recruited Rod Fergusson from the Diablo team to work on the beloved franchise development group.

Below is the entire text from Ismailer's announcement:
